World Emblem Mexico Passes Social Compliance Audit With Perfect Score

May 21, 2019

World Emblem Mexico recently passed Sumerra’s social compliance audit with a perfect score in every department. Sumerra is a worldwide company whose purpose is to verify safe conditions, workers’ rights, and environmental stewardship. They also focus on on the needs of companies who want to improve working conditions and reduce risks worldwide.

This audit ensures that World Emblem complies with all domestic rules and some specific U.S. law requirements. These are all related to the health, safety and work conditions of its employees.

Sumerra’s audit consists of three main parts:

  1. Installation inspection: Verification that the location complies with all health and safety laws.
  2. Work conditions and documentation: The auditor asks for employee information for different dates in the previous 12 months. This includes payroll receipts, employees files, medical conditions, records, etc. They validate all payments and deductions are complete according to the law.
  3. Personnel interviews: The auditor chooses random employees to be interviewed. They ask questions about overall working conditions and accept opinions, and complaints.

The results were a big accomplishment. This is especially true since the World Emblem Mexico recently moved the entire location to a new larger facility.

World Emblem considers employees like family. This is why it means so much to our President & CEO, Randy Carr, that all employees work in a safe environment. Alberto Albarran, General Manager at World Emblem Mexico, states, “employees are the most important part of our company.” He feels that audits help us provide the best possible work conditions. World Emblem pays a lot of attention to employee needs since it is a major factor to performance.
